My son Caden has loved soccer from way early on even in my belly! Yes I just said that, now let me explain! When I was eight months pregnant with Caden, we were moving into a little house in Springville. I was slowly putting things away and unpacking. My attention at that moment was in the kitchen and as I leaned over the stove and on tippy toes to an above cabinet, Caden kicked so hard that he knocked over some glasses that were next to my belly on the stove top. I joked to Nick that "He's going to be a soccer player!" Funny! Now yes he is only about nine, but he is really talented. He was playing city ball and shined even making as many as ten goals during one game. But other kids who could not keep up with him started playing dirty and knocking him over and kicking him in the stomach and knee when he was down! We heard about these tryouts for an accelerated soccer team in Mapleton. We showed up that morning and watched as Caden played his guts out. Nick and I heard the coach say I like 20 21 and 24. Caden's number was 20! We were so excited, but that faded when we heard that really there were only like four or less open spots. We waited Four days before hearing that he did in fact make the team. I ran to the school and told Caden! We both jumped up and down and actually got a little teary eyed, i am not going to lie! So since then he had a week long camp and now has 7:30 am practices Mon, Wed, and Friday. HE works so hard and his coach told us that during the tryouts they knew they wanted him after seeing him play in just the first five minutes. After camp week, he pulled Nick and I aside and said that Caden is very talented and that if he keeps up this enthusiasm, he will play college ball! Now yes he is only 9, well almost 9, but if he chooses to continue down this path, me and Nick will support him every step of the way! Way to go Caden Dad and I are way proud of you!

WOW! That is awesome! How nice would it be to have discovered his great "calling" in life at such a young age. You're such good parents to support and foster his natural talent. Let us know when his games are... Corbin is OBSESSED with soccer and would love to come watch him play sometime!
I would like to add that Caden has been working to earn the money to pay for his team entry fees, $300.00. He has been selling golf balls that he and his grandpa find on the golf course, candy bars and water. He has been focused and determined to earn his keep on the team. On just 4 different occasions so far he has earned $173.52. Caden's efforts on the soccer course and wanting to 'earn his keep' show's his merit and affirming responsibility. Learning these things young promotes credibility and trustworthiness. Caden we are so proud of you and love you for your efforts! KICK BUTT!
Good to hear he is enjoying it! Go Caden!
Can you believe your already in this stage of your life?!?!?
